Why a blog?

When I mentioned to my husband (Justin) that I wanted to start a blog, he told me he was going to have to quit his job. To become my full time blog editor, of course. I assured him that was not necessary but he has a great point. I am not the best writer in all the world. So, I am going to be honest in my intentions of creating a blog. You won’t see a lot of writing but you will see a lot of photos. I know it’s cliche to say, but I hope my photos do the talkin’ and fill you in on the story, passion, and the overwhelming love. (Speaking of L.O.V.E, this photo above reflects me and my husband’s love completely :)

Why a blog? 3 {honest} reasons:

1. Facebook has been irreplaceable for my business. It has reached people that I could have never, EVER have reached before. However, the photos don’t show well and I would like people to have the option to see a better quality. A blog does not compress images like Facebook does.

2. My two best friends got married last fall and they both did a google search :: venue – photography :: Which leads me to SEO (Search Engine Optimization), with a small photography business, I want to make sure I am easily searchable.

3. The blog will be where I will share photography business news + tips. For example, album options, tips on what to wear, and much more! You might see a few personal posts but they will mainly be photos of my dog. :) If you want to see more personal details, please friend me on facebook where we can share a little more of life together: https://www.facebook.com/rpillmore or Instagram: http://instagram.com/rebekah_pillmore

So, in the famous words of Toby Keith, my strategy is “a little less talk and a lot more action.” Leave your comments/love/thoughts and let me know what ya think?!
